The fact that Petrogas has applied for authorisation to set up two new platforms in the North Sea is good news for the port Den Helder.
The rigs should come in block B10 and A15 of the Dutch part of the continental shelf. The Government wants to authorise the creation of the platforms in the blocks where gas is going to win the coming years., A good signal indicating that offers perspective for new activities in the North Sea, “says the director of Port of Den Helder. ,, Given our location it is obvious that Petrogas also will organize this operation from Den Helder. Petrogas has been part of the SNS-pool of Peterson.
The oil company from Oman explores gas via an existing natural gas production platform in the North Sea. The new platforms will be placed on about 250 kilometers away from Den Helder. Petrogas will run approximately nine deep drillings to natural gas from these platforms and a detection bore for the benefit of further future development. According to Chief Executive Mohamed Al Barwani the prospect for oil and gas is strong: ‘ The world is still largely dependent on fossil fuel, ‘ he says in his annual message. And now we are well positioned to continue to grow”.
